Ankara - Morocco's Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane arrived, on Wednesday, in Ankara to represent King Mohammed VI in the inauguration ceremony of Turkish president-elect Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In a statement to MAP upon his arrival at the Esbonga International Airport, Benkirane said that he is carrying a message from the King to the Turkish head of state.
"king Mohammed VI takes great interest in relations with Turkey in different areas," he said.
Benkirane was greeted by deputy governor of Ankara Hayattin Baluoglu, ambassador in charge of protocol at the Turkish foreign ministry Levent Burhan and Colonel Ahmet Yavucku from the general staff of Turkey's gendarmerie, as well as Morocco's ambassador to Turkey Mohamed Lotfi Aouad.
Erdogan won 52% of votes at the first round of the country's presidential elections and will swear an oath of allegiance on Thursday.
