Rabat - Housing Minister Nabil Benabdellah said, on Thursday in Rabat, that 88 projects are planned as part of the implementation of the city's policy.
Speaking at a press conference on the city's policy, Benabdellah noted that the ministry's contribution is totaling 11 billion dirhams, adding that 36 projects were signed and another 52 are under way.
Big, medium and small cities, as well as urban centers will benefit from integrated development projects, he added.
On run-down buildings, the minister noted that 4,086 buildings were restored and 9,068 are being revamped in conformity with 2013 commitments, saying that the restoration of 7,808 buildings are planned for 2014.
"The works of restoration are worth 7.2 billion dirhams, including the State's contribution which amounts to MAD 4.5 billion," he added.
Concerning shanties, the official said 85% of shanty towns were eradicated despite problems of relocating its dwellers.
