Rabat - Morocco vehemently condemned, on Wednesday, the terrorist attack that targeted Tuesday morning the Corinthia hotel in Libya's capital Tripoli, claiming several victims.
"The Kingdom of Morocco vehemently condemns this despicable assault meant to terrorize innocent civilians, and undermine Libya's security and the national dialogue process under way under the aegis of the United Nations Support Mission in this brotherly country," said the Foreign Affairs Ministry in a statement.
Morocco also expresses its sympathy and full solidarity with the Libyan brotherly people in this decisive phase of their history, extends its condolences and compassion to the victims' families and wishes prompt recovery for the wounded, it said.
While reiterating its flat rejection of terrorism, in all its forms and regardless of its motives given the serious threat it poses to international peace and security, Morocco calls for reinforcing international cooperation and coordination to counter this plague with firmness, it concluded.
