Tunis- King Mohammed VI sent a condolence and solidarity message to Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi in the wake of the terrorist attack on the Bardo Museum in Tunis.
The message was handed by Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezouar who was received on Saturday in the Presidential Palace in Tunis by President Caid Essebsi.
On this occasion, Mezouar expressed to Tunisia’s President "the solidarity of the Moroccan King, government and people with Tunisia following the despicable terrorist attack that violates all universal human values and the precepts of our religion."
On the same occasion, the minister relayed to President Caid Essebssi an invitation from the King to visit Morocco.
Mezouar also expressed Morocco’s support to the democratic transition process in Tunisia.
For his part, the Tunisian head of state sent a similar invitation to the Sovereign to visit Tunisia.
Recalling HM the King's latest visit to Tunisia, the Tunisian President praised the monarch's extension of his stay in Tunis which left a positive impact on the Tunisian people.
The Tunisian President also stressed the need for strengthening the longstanding cooperation relations between Morocco and Tunisia in several fields of mutual interest, on top of which the fight against terrorism, adding that the holding of the high joint Morocco-Tunisian commission will add a fresh impetus to economic ties between the two countries.
