Rabat - Italy’s giants Inter Milan are poised to beat Juventus and Real Madrid to the signing of Bayern Munich’s defender Mehdi Benatia.
Multiple Italian media reports said Mehdi Benatia seems to be the Nerazzurri’s great acquisition for this summer, as the club is looking to make a few changes to their back four.
The Italian are said to be awaiting a signature from Bayern Munich to start negotiations to reach agreement on the price of the player.
Mehdi Benatia, former Roma defender made his move to Germany just last summer, costing €26 million to the Bavarian club.
La Gazzzetta dello Sport reported, ”with that much money Inter should pay to get him. This is not a deal that will be closed in a few days”.
Last month, Inter’s sport director Javier Zanetti labeled Bayern Munich’s defender Mehdi Benatia as a "great champion," manifesting joy if he moves to San Siro.
"We speak of a great champion, but you have to speak cautiously as negotiations are complicated. If he comes we are all happy."Zanetti said.
The Italian team adds to a long list of great European clubs interested in the Moroccan player, such as Real Madrid and Juventus.
