Ministry of Higher Education Unveils Scholarships for Moroccan Students to study abroad

Rabat - Morocco’s Higher Education Ministry has announced four scholarships for Moroccan students to study in four foreign countries.

A statement by the Higher Education Ministry said Moroccan students willing to follow their studies abroad can now apply for scholarships in four countries: Tunisia, Senegal, Germany and the United States of America

According to the same source Senegal’s government has also allocated seven scholarships to Moroccan undergraduate students in the academic year of 2015-2016, on top of the four scholarships the Moroccan government plans to offer.

These scholarships include different branches, mainly medicine, dental surgery, engineering, agricultural engineering, applied economics, information technology and archives and documentations.

Tunisia’s government, on the other hand, has allocated scholarships in engineering.

The statement went on to add that one scholarship is available for Moroccan undergraduate students wishing to study in Germany and one scholarship is available for the United States during the 2015-2016 academic year.

The deadline for these scholarships is August 31, 2015, the statement concluded.

In an interview last week, Minister of Higher Education Lahcen Daoudi said that there are several scholarships allocated to Moroccan students to study aboard. Yet, he said Moroccan students do not apply for most of them.

Lahcen Daoudi urged Moroccan students willing to study abroad to constantly check the Ministry’s website in order to be aware of the latest scholarships available to Moroccan students.
