Rabat - A Moroccan security officer was fatally hit by a car during a traffic control operation on Saturday morning, about twenty kilometers to the east of Fez, local authorities said according to Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).
The accident occurred around 4:30 am local time, at a roundabout linking Sidi Harazem to Taounate when the 37-year old policeman who was conducting the control of a truck was hit by a vehicle.
The victim succumbed to his injuries as he was being evacuated to the Fez University Hospital, according to the same source.
The driver was taken into custody and an investigation was opened to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
