Rabat – Morocco and Switzerland are in a better place to work for mediation in Mali and the stability of the Sahel-Saharan region, said Tuesday in Rabat, Special Envoy of Switzerland for the Sahel, Didier Berberat.
In a statement to MAP at the end of his meeting with Speaker of the House of Advisors Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, the representative of Switzerland to the International Monitoring and Evaluation Unit in Mali welcomed the leading role played by the Kingdom in the Sahel-Saharan region and its efforts to achieve a lasting solution to the crisis in Mali.
The meeting also discussed the friendship ties between Morocco and Switzerland and ways to further strengthen cooperation between the House of Advisors and the Swiss Senate, said Senator Berberat.
For his part, Biadillah said the talks focused on issues of common interest and the Moroccan democratic and development model launched by King Mohammed VI in an ever-changing region.
