Geneva - Morocco's new migration policy is a unique experience in the southern Mediterranean region, said on Tuesday, speaker of the House of Advisors, Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah.
Speaking at the 130th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, Biadillah stressed that "this courageous initiative, launched under the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is the only of its kind in the southern Mediterranean in such a complex field of immigration.
"Biadillah recalled the current operation to regularize illegal immigrants from African countries, but also Syria, in accordance with international law, to enable them to fully enjoy their rights and conditions of a dignified life.
In the same context, the Moroccan official highlighted the Moroccan model of democracy which is gradually enshrined in a climate of stability, serenity and wide participation, a dynamic that has enabled the country to meet the new security challenges.
