London - Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Koji Sekimizu hailed, in London on Wednesday, the important role played by Morocco in the UN agency which is dedicated to maritime safety.
At a reception hosted by Ambassador of Morocco to Britain, Lalla Joumala, on the sidelines of the 93rd session of the Maritime Safety Committee (May 14-23), Sekimizu welcomed the support provided by the Kingdom to the efforts of the organization, stressing the significant progress made by Morocco in the field of maritime transport and port infrastructure. He recalled the actions and flagship projects launched by the Kingdom to enhance maritime safety and security, and fight against pollution.
For her part, Ambassador of Morocco to the UK highlighted the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI aimed at making the maritime sector a national priority, and strengthening the economic development of the Kingdom as well as Morocco's commitment to the principles and values.
