Brussels – Morocco has a an “important” and “proactive” role in keeping regional stability, said Monday in Brussels, Stephanie Siklossy, Political officer at NATO’s Political Affairs and Security Policy Division.
“Morocco, which is one of NATO’s most active partners in the Mediterranean Dialogue, is for the Allies a country with a moderating role in the region,” Siklossy noted during a meeting with Moroccan academics on visit to NATO headquarters.
There are several factors that enable Morocco to play a leading role in the region, particularly its strategic location and long-standing and close ties with NATO member states, the NATO official noted.
Welcoming Morocco’s “pragmatic” vision, Siklossy stressed that the Kingdom has always been an important partner of NATO, she concluded.
